Our clients a pharmaceutical company in Hertfordshire is recruiting for an IT Manager
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for all Information Technology and Telecommunications
- Maintaining consistently high service levels of IT support
- Management, assessment and negotiation of supplier contracts
- Implementation of the IT strategy on time to the agreed budget.
- Preparation of IT related business cases
- Ensuring IT systems and internal controls comply with cGMP (good manufacturing practice) and meet both FDA (21 CFR Part 11) and MHRA requirements.
- Ensuring the systems are secure from external and internal threats and backed up
- Within a controlled structure take responsibility for a team of technical staff involved in carrying out the following tasks:
Ø Day-to-day efficient provision of agreed service levels
Ø Operation and maintenance of significant computer and communications network and server infrastructure
Ø Operation and maintenance of significant computer software
Ø Operation of company intranet
Ø Operation of company websites
Ø Application of procedures for security, recovery and incident/problem management
Ø Level 1,2 and 3 desktop support
Ø Provision of user services, support and guidance in an operational, departmental or personal computing environment
Ø Management of supplier relationships for a range of software and technical support supply contracts
Ø IT project implementation and management
- Ensuring that assigned resources are properly and efficiently utilised
- Provide clear briefing and direction of sub ordinate staff,
- Monitor the quality of performance from all work within the scope of responsibility.
- Fostering a positive attitude to quality and safety to ensure that the delivered service meets agreed service levels
- To utilise and promote up to date project management techniques so that projects are completed on time and within budget
- Monitoring and reporting of progress against plan.
- Ensuring that staff are properly trained to handle complex problems of modern IT systems
- Ensure that users receive appropriate training so that the full benefits of IT investment can be realised
- Maintaining a good knowledge of, advising on and justifying hardware, software and policies affecting service delivery
- Ensuring that IT systems comply with regulatory and audit requirements
- Assessing, choosing. liaising and negotiating with suppliers
- Providing an effective interface at the highest level between users and service providers ensuring that priority setting and escalation procedures are applied effectively and that all complaints are responsibly and professionally resolved in a timely manner.
- Monitoring the status and speed of resolution of incidents and problems.
- Being proactive in devising improvements such as further training of users or support staff and recommending appropriate changes to systems, products or services
